About Our Practice
Comprehensive & Compassionate Patient Care
Our practice opened in Okatie, SC in 2002, founded by Lance Lowe, MD. Over the years, the practice has grown to include three additional physicians as well as a second location on Hilton Head Island. All of our physicians are board certified in pediatrics by the American Academy of Pediatrics; each of our doctors have completed both an undergraduate degree program, followed by four years of medical school and an intensive three year pediatric residency training program. Finally, each has passed a Pediatric Board Certification Exam.
Our physicians are focused on Comprehensive & Compassionate Patient Care and helping to educate families so that they can make the best decisions for their children's health and safety. We participate in the full spectrum of your child's healthcare--prenatal through college. You are welcome to schedule any appointment with the physician of your choosing, although we recommend that you see your regular physician for well child visits. Our offices are linked via an electronic medical records system, so your child's complete health history is available at either Palmetto Pediatrics location.
Our office is staffed by experienced pediatric registered nurses who are happy to offer guidance over the telephone as well as in the office. Both of our offices have certified labratory services so most lab results are available during your child's visit. We offer both routine and seasonal vaccines recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Center for Disease Control and we participate in the South Carolina Vaccines for Children program, making vaccines affordable to those who are under or uninsured.
Should you have after hours emergencies, we offer a 24 hour nurse triage service. Additionally, we always have a physician on-call and available if needed. Our physicians are on staff at both Hilton Head Hospital and Coastal Carolina Hospital, and are well connected with pediatric specialists at Backus Children's Hospital in Savannah and MUSC.
