Sara “Sally” Helton, M.D. is originally from Savannah and returned to the area in 2024 to be closer to family. She attended the University of Georgia for her undergraduate studies and earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.
After residency, Dr. Helton worked in the Pediatric Emergency Department to gain additional experience caring for acutely ill children before transitioning to outpatient pediatrics at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. She joined Palmetto Pediatrics of the Lowcountry in the spring of 2026.
Dr. Helton lives in Savannah with her husband, Matthew, their two children, a goldendoodle, and two cats. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring new places, spending time outside, cooking, and staying active. Dr. Helton values building strong relationships with families and partnering with parents to support their children’s health and development at every stage.
